Northern Land Use Research (NLUR) is a cultural resource consulting firm located in Fairbanks, Alaska. We are the largest full-time cultural resource company in the state, yet also meet federal and state guidelines for a small business. NLUR is well qualified to undertake all types of Alaskan historic land use projects. Since incorporation in 1991, we have completed over 250 projects and have built a reputation for high quality and cost effective work. Our main office is located at 600 University Avenue, Suite 6, in Fairbanks, with a satellite office in Anchorage, Alaska.
The services provided by NLUR are essential to many northern industries and government agencies. Preconstruction cultural resource surveys and mitigation plans are often required for utility, oil and gas, logging, mining, and construction projects licensed, funded, or permitted by State and Federal agencies. Environmental Assessments / Impact Statements are required prior to some lands actions. NLUR provides expert professional services required in identifying, assessing, and mitigating historic, archaeological, and traditional cultural property sites on both private and public lands in Alaska, and in guiding development projects through the permitting process. |
